Floods receding quickly

MINOR flooding along the Ovens River continued to recede over the weekend, after its confluence with the King River at Wangaratta rose to its highest point on the year late last week.

The Ovens River peaked at 12.17m at 4am last Friday, its highest since last year's September floods reached just shy of 12.3m, flooding parts of Apex Park and Painter's Island Caravan Park.
