‘Green-light’ places without COVID cases

WANGARATTA-based state MP Tania Maxwell (MLC, Northern Victoria) wants the State Government to keep places without COVID cases out of future lockdowns.

She and fellow Derryn Hinch Justice Party MP Stuart Grimley have written to Acting Premier James Merlino asking Victoria adapt a ‘traffic light system’ to deal with future outbreaks.

Ms Maxwell said it would be similar to the COVID-risk management ‘traffic light system’ the government established in January this year to limit travel from high-risk locations in NSW.

That Victorian Travel Permit System used public health advice to define levels of COVID risk in NSW local government areas, with high-risk zones designated red, at-risk zones orange, and low or no-risk zones ...
