WANGARATTA residents can now get guaranteed fixed price taxi fares by booking through a national taxi booking app.
Prices will remain the same as quoted when booked, even on a public holiday or during peak hour traffic.
A spokesman for Wangaratta Taxis, Glen Beard, said the company decided to dispatch their cabs through the 13cabs booking system to improve passenger service.
"When passengers book through the 13cabs app, they will not only get a Wangaratta Taxi but also a fixed price guarantee for their fare," he said.
"The new system starts today and our passengers will soon discover how convenient it is to book us through the 13cabs app."
When booking through the 13cabs app, or by ringing 13cabs' main call centre on 132 227, anyone in Wangaratta or surrounds will automatically be connected with a Wangaratta Taxi.
"We want to make things as easy as we can for our passengers," Mr Beard said.
"Of course, passengers can still book using the existing number 5721 8888."
A spokesman for 13cabs, Greg Hardeman, said the company was pleased it could help Wangaratta Taxis and its passengers through its modern booking app.
"We are delighted to work with Wangaratta Taxis and in turn, help the people of Wangaratta," he said.
The 13cabs app can be downloaded at apple or google play stores.
