FLOOD WATER RISING: Flood waters from the Ovens River had breached the banks at Sydney beach in Wangaratta by noon yesterday and were expected to rise almost another foot to peak at 12.24 metres last night. PHOTO: Jeff Zeuschner

STEADY rainfall since Wednesday last week, punctuated by heavier falls on Friday night into Saturday morning, saw minor flooding along parts of the Ovens and King rivers yesterday.

The Ovens River at Wangaratta reached the minor flood level of 11.9 metres late Sunday morning and it was rising during the day, with the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) predicting it would peak at 12.25 metres (below mode...
