SWEET BATTLE: Wangaratta Library trainee Peyton Williams, CWA Wangaratta evening branch member Hannah Robinson, CWA Whorouly branch member Carol Johnson and Wangaratta Library adult programs and services librarian Jasen Smith are looking forward to tomorrow's Cake-OFF at the Docker Street library. The event is being run in conjunction with a competition inviting locals to submit their versions of Margaret Fulton's basic butter cake for judging. It will see two CWA groups decorating cakes in front of an audience, which will then decide on a winner. The baking bonanza is part of promotion for 'Margaret Fulton The Musical', which will be staged at the Wangaratta Performing Arts and Convention Centre on July 16. To book your place in the audience at tomorrow's Cake-OFF, contact the library on 5721 2366. Textile award announcement
THE Wangaratta Contemporary Textile Award 2021 official opening event and award announcement will be held tomorrow at the Wangaratta Art Gallery.
The judge of the biennial award is National Gallery of Victoria curator of Indigenous art, Hannah Presley, and the event will run from 2pm until 4pm with numbers limited and bookings required.
