SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE: Galen Catholic College business manager Emily Hordern and students Perri Watson and Rylee Watkins enjoyed some great stories as part of Book Week celebrations last week. While local schools' Book Week plans were impacted by the current COVID–19 lockdown, they still managed to recognise the event with book–themed activities during remote learning, and promotion of Children's Book Council of Australian award–winners.
STUDENTS were invited to explore the theme of Children's Book Council of Australia Book Week through Galen Catholic College's annual Nano short story competition last week.
The theme of the week–long celebration connecting young people and books was 'Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds', and students were challenged to use this as their inspiration to write a story of up to 150 words.
