COUNCIL has reassured people's safety after a large tree fell at one of Wangaratta's most popular parks last Friday, with the cause due to wet seasonal conditions.
Merriwa Park was closed for the day as expert arborists assessed the tree and other trees in the park before it was reopened just prior to 5pm that afternoon.
