WANGARATTA has recorded its driest April in 98 years, with the Bureau of Meteorology's weather station at Wangaratta Airport only recording 3.2mm of rainfall for the month.
It's the least since the city had just 1mm for April in 1927.
It brings Wangaratta's annual total for the first four months of 2025 to 119.4mm, which is well below the historical mean of 167.4mm.
