WANGARATTA Rovers will not be penaised for any breaches of social distancing rules after the Ovens and Murray Football Netball League accepted the Hawks had not been “training” through the COVID-19 shutdown.
A photograph emerged late Monday of people congregating at the WJ Findlay Oval, just hours after Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announced some restrictions would be eased as of midnight Tuesday.
The Hawks were subsequently accused of ‘cheating’ and breaking the rules via a range of social media platforms with the Ovens and Murray asking the club for an explanation.
