Indi MP to mentor other incoming federal Independents

RE–ELECTED Indi Independent MP, Helen Haines, will begin as a mentor for some fellow federal Independent members in Wangaratta today.

Kooyong's Dr Monique Ryan, Goldstein's Zoe Daniel and the member for Curtin Kate Chaney will be coming to learn the essentials of politics from Dr Haines.

"About the number of questions we get at question time, how we will go about our private members' legislation business, lots of reform, around the Jenkins review and how to improve the culture of parliament house."

Dr Haines said a federal ICAC will be her top priority when parliamentary discussions begins, and she has already been in talks with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Attorney–Ge...
