EC Griffith Cup & Yarrawonga Fair

THE Yarrawonga Foreshore on Lake Mulwala will play host to a full schedule of races for a variety of boat classes over three days this April.

The event run is by the Yarrawonga Mulwala Tourist Centre, in conjunction with the Victorian Speed Boat Club, and will be a great opportunity for families all over the region to enjoy the free festivities and watch some thrilling boat racing on the vast Yarrawonga Foreshore.

The event is generally the domain of the Grand Prix Hydroplanes, the world's fastest circuit race boats which roar across the water at surface speeds in excess of 280 kilometres per hour.

Boats can be of any design to contest the cup, as long as they are inboard and powered by a single automotive engine.

Shaking up EC Griffith Cup and Yarrawonga Fair this year will be the mind–blowing aerobatic displays from Red Bull Air Race World Champion, Matt Hall.

Matt and his team promise to take this event to an exhilarating new level.

Matt is the current Red Bull Air Race world champion and former Royal Australian Air Force top gun fighter pilot.

Matt placed third in his world championship racing debut in 2009 and has since accumulated seven wins and 25 podiums, making him the most successful Air Race pilot to compete in the modern era.

Taking off April 21 to 23, this event is one not to be missed for locals and visitors to the area.

Incorporating Yarrawonga Fair there will be thrill rides, a side show alley, market, licenced bar facilities, food vendors and much more.
