Rehabilitation centre vacancies put into the spotlight by magistrate

A LOCAL magistrate has highlighted a “sad” state of affairs in drug and alcohol rehabilitation availability in the area, after he released a regularly drug-affected Wangaratta offender back into the community.

A 22-year-old Wangaratta woman had spent 88 days in three separate stints in custody this year for various drug affected offending involving abuse and assault of emergency service worker...
