Wangaratta's Lara Pearson performed extremely well at this month's Virtus World Athletics Championships in Brisbane, finishing as female youth gold medallist for the event.
The 15-year-old Wangaratta District Specialist School student represented Australia at the 11-14 October championships, finishing first in the 100m and 200m (setting a new Virtus youth world record with 27.18).
