Australia in prime position to see five solar eclipses

AUSTRALIA will experience a partial eclipse on Thursday, April 20, and a chance to prepare for the big one, a total eclipse over Sydney in 2028.

The sun will disappear over Ningaloo in Western Australia next Thursday at 1.29 pm AEST and will reappear a minute later.

This total eclipse is exceedingly rare; any single location on Earth is only likely to see a total eclipse once every few hundred years...
