AWARD SUCCESS: The Whitfield community is celebrating its success, having been awarded bronze at the 2025 Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards, in the tiny town category. It was the first time the King Valley Tourism Association (KVTA) has entered the awards, with president Karen Barber (pictured at the awards with Rural City of Wangaratta councillor Harry Bussell) saying they are already talking about going for gold in 2026. Council congratulated the KVTA for its hard work on the award submission, which included a fun video showcasing the region and its many attractions.
Ten local community members joined three staff members from the North East Catchment Management Authority (NECMA) for the inaugural meeting of the King River Project steering group held at the Moyhu Soldiers Memorial Hall in July.
