Wangaratta's next free pop-up op shop will be held this Sunday, 9 November.

The op shop will run from 10am to 2pm at the Wangaratta Seventh Day Adventist Church, featuring a wide range of items, with a delicious morning tea also available.

Organiser Jan Mitchell said the need for the op shop, which has been greeted enthusiastically by locals on a number of occasions already this year, was increasing.

"The cost of living is just too high for many families to get through the everyday expenses now," she said.

"Inflation is once again on the rise, so interest rates will stay firm for an extended time.

"Times are tough, and we need to be of assistance to others where we can.

"Everyone can help somebody.

"It's often the little things that make all the difference."

Ms Mitchell said she appreciated the support of locals coming together to help with donations of clothes, linen, household items and children's toys.

"Thank you, Wangaratta, and everyone further afield for your support," she said.

"The stories of hardship are many and varied, and this is something that we feel that we can do to make a difference to many.

"It's overwhelming at times to hear how difficult things are for some people, but it's equally overwhelming to be part of a community that is so generous."

Everything is free at the pop-up op shop, and everyone is welcome.
