WHOROULY CWA is welcoming everyone to come along to the Whorouly Recreation Reserve on Friday, June 17, to support their cuppa for cancer event, where there will be raffles, prizes and homemade food for everyone to enjoy.

Cuppa for cancer is in conjunction with the Cancer Council's Biggest Morning Tea, with the Whorouly branch looking forward to getting many people there for the first post–COVID event.

Whorouly CWA president, Jannette Allen, said days like the Biggest Morning Tea show what the local community is all about and allows people to share stories.

"The day will include everything people love about the CWA with both sweet and savoury treats for only a gold coin donation," she said.

"All of the funds are going to the Cancer Council to assist those with cancer and to help fund lifesaving research.

"We usually have our annual cuppa for cancer in May when the Biggest Morning Tea is normally held but due to many of us going away, we have moved it back to the June."

The Biggest Morning Tea is one of the events which the Whorouly CWA commit to each year, with their mantra being about supporting the community in which we live.

"Although this is an Australia–wide event, there is always someone within the local community who is impacted by cancer no matter if they are your family or friends," Ms Allen said.

"Everybody you talk to has some sort of a connection, so the least we can do is to put on a morning tea to help raise funds for the cause."
