A Wangaratta man alleged to have been responsible for multiple dangerous and erratic driving incidents within the rural city in recent months is in custody.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said Wangaratta police arrested the 36-year-old and impounded his white Holden Rodeo on Saturday after it was allegedly seen driving erratically on the Great Alpine Road and surrounding streets just after 3pm.

He was intercepted by police on Allans Lane, Milawa a short time later.

It’s believed the 36-year-old is responsible for numerous dangerous driving incidents in the Wangaratta area over the past few months.

“He was charged with stalking, reckless conduct endanger life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, theft, unlawful assault and intentionally lose traction,” the spokesperson said.

The man was remanded into custody to appear at Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 1 December.
