Saturday’s round six of Wangaratta Lawn Tennis, Croquet and Pickleball Club’s senior aggregate competition was another display of high-quality tennis, set on some of the best grass country in the state.

Section one saw Ryan Patterson maintain his dominance in section one, coming in with the top score of 22-13.

Kevin Callahan wasn’t too far behind with his 20-18, while Mark Brown (17-18), Brian Scobie (16-19), and Riley Minns (15-22) bringing up the rear.

Andrew Lindner (24-16) took bragging rights in section two, coming in comfortably ahead of Ashley Weston’s balanced 20-20 and Mandy Allen’s 19-21.

John Mansfield laboured hard, managing 17-23.

In section three, Thomas Mansfield was incredible, taking out the section with a brilliant record of 21-8.

Richard Siggers came in next with 18-15, his fewer lost games accounting for Frank Harris (18-18), while Mason Scholes (12-19) and Andrew Cope (11-23) were a way behind.

It was a narrow result in section four, with only a single game separating Mark Gorman (20-10) from Greg Renner (19-13).

Maree Sullivan (17-16) and Pat Flynn (15-17) kept pace with the front runners, while Peter Curran was adrift with his 9-24.

Section five saw Noel Boyd more than handle the opposition, taking top spot with his 24-13, while James Wilkinson had to be content with second thanks to his 18-21.

Sartaj Bal and Scott Long couldn’t be split, closing out the section with tied scores of 16-21 apiece.

In section six, Carl Cutrona (19-11), Tony Clarebrough (18-12) and Simone Weston (17-13) were all around the mark, with John Shanley lagging with 6-24.

Sue Piper came up with the goods in section seven, finishing with 20-13, while Cate Geard (19-14) and Max McAuliffe (18-15) were separated by a single game.

Robyn Snowdon rounded out the competition with 9-24.
