RENOWNED Australian touring company Lab Kelpie will present A Day At A Time in Rhyme, a new play written and performed by industry veteran Jane Clifton, at the Wangaratta Performing Arts and Convention Centre on Wednesday, September 11 at 10.30am.

The captivating one-woman show takes audiences on an unforgettable journey through the seasons of a year, offering a poignant and humorous exploration of life's many facets.

Inspired by her 2019 published poetry diary of the same name, A Day At A Time in Rhyme merges spoken word, soundscapes, images and music to create a unique theatrical experience.

Jane Clifton's outstanding performance runs the entire gamut of reflection, humour and wit, touching on themes such as love, death, family, incontinence, footy, wine and sex.

Jane has enjoyed a five-decade long career in showbusiness, featuring in popular Australian television shows from Division 4, Homicide, Ryan and Bluey, to Holiday Island.

She fronted the ground-breaking feminists-on-Countdown band Stiletto, and has been part of smash-hit stage shows including Mum's The Word and Menopause - The Musical.

She has also had two top 10 pop singles, published three crime novels and recently took up painting.

Despite Jane's many achievements in arts and entertainment, she will always be best remembered for a role she played 40 years ago, as Margo in Prisoner.

She now returns to the stage in A Day At A Time in Rhyme - a riveting hour-long performance where Jane peels back the layers to share her witty observations on life.

Supported by sound effects, music and projections, Jane will perform about 35 of the original 365 poems in a dramatised monologue, drawing on the personal to the universal as she runs the entire gamut of reflection, humour, tragedy, wit and whimsy.

The final of the centre's matinee series for 2024, the show will be held on Wednesday, September 11 at 10.30am and tickets are $25 each, available at wpacc.com.au or by calling 5722 8105.
