THE Rural City of Wangaratta’s outgoing councillors will this evening vote on the sale of the Max Parkinson Lodge facility to Beyond Housing to be developed into emergency housing.

Beyond Housing plans to turn the site, at 8 Sadler Street, into affordable housing for at-risk members of the community, given its close proximity to schools, shopping precincts and health care services.

At the council meeting in December 2019, councillors endorsed entering into a tripartite agreement with the Director of Housing and Beyond Housing, to facilitate the transfer of the land and buildings.
