CFA has announced the fire danger period (FDP) will end next week for many parts of the North East, including Wangaratta. The Rural City of Wangaratta FDP will be over as of 1am Monday, March 23, as well as Benalla Rural City, Mansfield Shire Council, Mount Buller and Mount Stirling resorts, Wodonga, Al Alpine Shire, Indigo Shire, Towong Shire and Falls Creek and Mt Hotham alpine resorts. CFA District 23 operations manager Colin Brown said that while the FDP is finishing, it’s still important for the community to remain vigilant.
