THE new $17 million upgraded pools at Wangaratta’s premier sporting precinct is set to open in mid to late December in time for the heat of summer.

Wangaratta council is set to take over the reins of the Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre (WSAC) from the YMCA from November 1 including the new 50-metre outdoor pool and hydro therapy pool.

Sports, aquatic and events precinct manager Chloe Davies has been busy hiring staff, building on the strong programming schedule at the facility, while introducing some new and upgraded equipment.
