A $93 MILLION Laceby solar farm project has won the approval of Victorian Minister for Planning Richard Wynne, eight months after it was knocked back by Rural City of Wangaratta councillors. The solar farm was among several projects announced this week, as part of the State Government’s current focus on the building and construction sector’s role in assisting Victoria’s recovery from the effects of COVID-19. The government believes the sector can help revitalise the state’s economy, and is focusing on projects which provide positive short to medium term economic impact and job creation, and contribute to broader social objectives like emissions reduction.
