BORES will be sunk and standpipes installed at 10 strategic locations across the Rural City of Wangaratta to assist farmers during drought and help with emergency response to bushfires.
It will be part a $1 million package for infrastructure, planning and water access projects for rural communities.
Council has identified four initiatives, which will begin to be delivered over coming months with a key project bringing the delivery of water standpipes to locations near Boweya-Killawarra, Springhurst, Byawartha, Glenrowan, Murmungee, Greta, Carboor, King Valley, Myrrhee and Whitfield.
