Nearby residents to a Markwood grass and scrub fire have been urged to evacuate as fire crews attempt to bring the blaze under control on Thursday afternoon.
A State Control Centre spokesperson said CFA crews were called to the spreading fire at the corner of Carboor Road and Snow Road about 1:30pm
As of 3pm Thursday, there were 19 CFA vehicles on scene assisted by aircraft.
The spokesperson said the fire was travelling in a south - south easterly direction to the west of Henley Ridge.
CFA issued a Watch and Act notice, urging nearby residents to leave.
"Conditions may change and get worse very quickly, emergency services may not be able to help you if you decide to stay," it read.
The State Control Centre spokesperson said if you decide to leave you can exit along Henley Ridge Road.
The fire is not yet under control.
