Construction of a new housing development to provide modern and much-needed accommodation for healthcare professionals at Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is taking shape in Dixon Street.
Framing work on the new nine dwellings was recently completed, with the project progressing to the next phase of roofing, external cladding, and interior work.
Works began in September, with funding through the Victorian government's Regional Worker Accommodation Fund.
The nine dwellings will provide a mix of one and two-bedroom units providing a total of 16 beds for healthcare workers.
NHW executive director of people and corporate operations, Kim Bennetts, said the project is part of NHW’s ongoing commitment to support staff by offering high-quality, comfortable living spaces for those dedicated to delivering exceptional healthcare services.
“Providing quality housing for our staff is an important part of attracting and retaining skilled healthcare professionals," she said.
"This development will make it easier for our people to live and work locally, strengthening our ability to deliver high-quality care to the community.”
The project is expected to be completed in June next year.
