THE development of the highly anticipated drug and alcohol residential rehabilitation service in Wangaratta is set to commence modular construction by the end of the year.

The facility, which will be located at the former Ovens College site in Greta Road, was one of four sites announced in 2018 to be developed in regional Victoria and was funded by the State Government at a cost of $40 million.

The service is expected to be staffed 24 hours, seven days a week and will be run by a partnership between Gateway Health and Odyssey House Victoria.
