This Sunday, the rumble of motorcycles will carry more than just the sound of engines, it will carry hope, joy and generosity.
The 22nd annual Christmas Toy Run is back, and riders from across the North East and border region are gearing up to deliver hundreds of gifts to the Beechworth Salvation Army for families doing it tough this festive season.
While it can be easy to get wrapped up in the material side of Christmas, it's important to remember what this season is all about: generosity, community and connection.
In an age where the festive season can easily become a race for the biggest gifts and the flashiest decorations, the Toy Run reminds us of the true spirit of Christmas: sharing joy with those who need it most.
A simple toy, book or game can mean the world to a child who might otherwise go without.
These gestures aren’t about price tags, they’re about love, hope and community.
Last year, nearly 100 riders filled a donated car carrier with toys, proof of what a united community can achieve.
This year, we can do even better.
So, Wangaratta, let’s dig deep.
Riders will meet at APCO at 8.30am before heading to Ovens and then Beechworth Salvos Hall for a barbecue lunch.
Bring an unwrapped toy, book, or game and help make Christmas magical for every child.
Because no child should miss out on joy and together we can make sure they don’t.
This year, let’s choose generosity over excess and make Christmas about what really matters.
