Sitting down all alone by the windowsill;
Gazing out into the world. There's no sorrow,
No care and no love for me to borrow.
The strides that I shall make must wait ‘till
Tomorrow, the day after that and again
And again, a pattern to last evermore.
All of the terror that lies in store
Will not be enough for my heart to wane.
The need for me to start is yet to occur,
And even when it does, I shan’t begin.
As why should I try to go out and win
When I could remain fulfilled and never stir.
The fear of failure is too hard to fill,
As I sit down all alone by the windowsill.
