The North East Knights Cricket Region have announced their Winter Academy Squads, with several local talents making the cut.
A high calibre coaching panel has been appointed to steer the academy programs, with all coaches having extensive experience in high performance cricket programs.
The boys' coaches include Robbie Jackson (former Melbourne Renegades and St Kilda CC assistant coach), Charlie Jackson (current Melbourne CC player) and Nick Impick (level 2 coach).
The girls' coaches include Sienna Sims, Cailen Green and Grace Kerwin (current Carlton CC players).
The North East Knights Region incorporates the Albury Wodonga and Wangaratta District Cricket Associations.
North East Knights talent manager Rohan Larkin said being slected for the squad was just the beginning.
"The squad members will participate in a number of high intensity, skilled based training sessions at the Wodonga Cricket Hub through July-September, with a focus on developing each players technical, tactical, physical, mental and personal skills to help maximise their potential," he said.
"Following on from these sessions, trial games will be played in October from which the North East Knights squads of 13 will be selected to compete at the Cricket Victoria Male and Female Country Cup in December.
"With high class training facilities being used and the quality of the coaching panel established, the Knights academy program's ultimate goal is to fast track the next North East cricketer to represent Victoria in both the male and female state competitions."
