B1: Wangaratta bowed out of the finals race after a narrow loss to Moira at Myrtleford on Saturday. Keith Izard, Chris Bell, Gayle King and Sussan Singleton were winners for Wangaratta (19-16), and Ken Essenhigh, Lance Jenkin, Mick Montgomery, and Gary Lidgerwood drew their rink (18-all). Richie Allan, Klaus Kazenwadel, Terry Johnson, and John Black went down (12-22) resulting in a seven-shot defeat in the elimination final. Final scores: Wangaratta 49 shots lost to Moira 56 shots. B3: Wangaratta will play Chiltern at Corowa Civic in next week’s preliminary final after going down against Dederang at Wodonga on Saturday. Lyn Kahlefeldt, Susan Bull, Michael Howard and John Keen gave Wangaratta a chance with a big win (20-7), however, losses to Howard Beard’s rink (12-22) and Graeme Norman’s rink (12-23) saw an eight-shot win to Dederang. Final scores: Wangaratta 44 shots lost to Dederang 52 shots.
