MILAWA Racquets Club hosted players from Kyabram as part of the Geoff Hunt Intertown program and showed that the Thursday night squash players maintained a high standard of play.

Alistair Robertson, Steve Collins, Chris Muracca and John Brown provided great competition to narrowly defeat the visitors who acknowledged the strength of the club in total numbers and activity.

The Milawa players used the extra competition to hone their skills for the Thursday night competition which has now entered the final series.

It will certainly be an interesting final series as any team can surprise on the night.

There are some intriguing contests coming with the top two teams playing for direct entry to the grand final on Friday, November 25, while teams GOAT and BS will have to play two solid weeks to get to the grand final the hard way.

While not everyone can compete in the finals, this has been a season that has again provided every team with an opportunity to feature.

There have been some outstanding individual performances and some great competitive games during the competition and all players will be watching to see who prevails and looking forward to the next short summer season when teams will be changed as some are unable to play and some new faces will emerge.

If you want to be one of those new faces contact the club or visit them on Monday or Thursday night for their usual competition or attend the grand final on Friday when there will be a family barbeque and a court for a social hit for the juniors.
