THIS year’s bushfire season outlook is looking much less severe thanks to winter rains and a wetter than normal spring predicted but the threat of grassland fires remains high.
According to the Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre, the 2020/21 fire season outlook showed the risk of campaign bushfires in Victoria’s east has substantially reduced.
A La Niña alert will mean large areas of eastern and northern Australia are expecting wetter than average conditions through spring.
