NORTH East SES units are preparing for floods this spring and are urging community members to take notice and get flood ready.

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) outlook has included a potential for La Niña weather, bringing heavy rains to south eastern parts of Australia and a higher risk of floods in the North East and Goulburn Broken rainfall catchments.

Adding extra risk, areas affected by the summer bushfires respond differently as heavy rains can trigger dangerous landslides on burnt ground and are more prone to flash flooding.
