Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) has appointed two new life governors, recognising their outstanding service and long-standing commitment to the organisation.

NHW former theatre unit manager Lois Foley, and former head of general surgery Mr Peter Thomas, will be formally conferred life governorship at the organisation's annual general meeting on Monday, 8 December at 3.30pm at the Quality Hotel Wangaratta Gateway.

NHW board chair, Ruth Kneebone, said the recognition reflects the organisation’s gratitude for the remarkable service of two highly respected members of the health community.

Ms Kneebone said life governorship is the highest honour that can be bestowed by NHW and it is reserved for individuals who have made an exceptional contribution, providing significant and lasting benefit to the organisation and the community it serves.

"Both Lois and Peter have made an enduring impact through their leadership, clinical expertise and dedication to patient care," she said.

"Their contributions have helped shape NHW’s services and culture, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to benefit staff, patients and the wider community.

"Their dedication, compassion and leadership have made a real and lasting difference.

"It’s an honour to recognise their contributions through life governorship.”

Community members, staff and colleagues are warmly invited to attend the AGM and join in celebrating this special occasion.
