THE North East's premier inline hockey side, the Border Benchwarmers, competed at the Elders BSB Cup in Bendigo two weeks ago, for a tournament of intense action.
Comprised of players from Wangaratta, Albury and Wodonga, the Benchwarmers compete in inline hockey, which is much like ice hockey but played wearing inline skates (roller blades) instead of ice skates.
The Benchwarmers entered teams in the division one and two competitions and took on teams from across the country.
Division one skipper Cameron Buckingham (pictured) led the club well against the competition, but neither side was able to take home the cup this year.
For more information on the club, or if you want to take up the sport, find the Border Benchwarmers on Facebook.
