AS the weather heats up and the evenings become more pleasant to enjoy, there’s no better way to have some fun than evening barefoot bowling at Wangaratta Bowls Club. Every Wednesday in November, from 6.15pm, the Wangaratta Bowls Club will be hosting a barefoot bowls night, for individuals and teams to enjoy the fun and social benefits of lawn bowls. The program commences tonight, Wednesday, November 6, and will run weekly until the end of the month (Wednesday, November 13, 20, and 27). Barefoot bowls teams consist of three players, making it ideal for businesses, families and friends to come together and have a bit of fun. Each night will consist of two one-hour games, with a short intermission between games for a barbecue. Weekly prizes will be awarded to winners and runners up, along with plenty of other special prizes. There will also be weekly raffles of meat trays and other assorted prizes. As the name suggests, players must be barefoot, or wear flat soled sports shoes or thongs, while all equipment will be supplied by the club, with club coaches available on request. For enquiries or entries, contact Greg McDonald on 0409 595 452, or the bowls club on (03) 5721 3744 (leave a message).
