A1: WANGARATTA travelled to Wodonga on Saturday and came away with a draw in what turned out to be an amazing result.
The scores wound up as an exact mirror image of the round five clash between the two teams.
Despite losing their rink (20–21), Ethan Fruend, Rhoanna Smith, Renee Hill and Greg Braden handed Wang the draw when they scored four shots on the last end of the game.
Ian Brimblecombe, Laurie McDonald, Paul King and Leon Quartermain (20–16) and Maurie Braden, Jodie Fruend, Phil Davern and Greg McDonald (16–14) were the two rink wins for Wangaratta, while a spirited fightback by Trevor Selwood, Chris Randell, Brian Challman and Graeme Smith (16–21) enabled the visitors to share the points.
Final scores: Wang 9 pts 72 shots drew with Wodonga 9 pts 72 shots.
Wangaratta play Rutherglen at home on Friday evening at 6.00pm.
A3: Wangaratta went down narrowly to top side Howlong at Howlong on Saturday.
Wangaratta fell just 10 shots short of the ladder leaders in what was a much improved effort on last week's loss to Wodonga.
Tom Morrow, Steve English, Lorna Martinelli and Steve Bihun (27–7) had a big win and Gary Chambers, Peter Selwood, Terry Corrigan and Bob McCalman gained a point for a (19 all) draw.
Brian Godfrey (12–19) and Gary Fenlon (7–30) were the two casualties.
Final scores: Wang 3 pts 65 shots lost to Howlong 15 pts 75 shots.
Milawa continued its run toward finals with a win over Beechworth at home on Saturday.
Terry Hallinan, Harry May, Paul Tiffen and Norm Hallett (35–8) were huge winners for the home side, while Dave Allan, Colin Reid, Freddie Allan and Barry Walker also won comfortably (23–14).
Ron Welfare, Jane Osmotherly, John Blackwell and Bernard Neal (20–17) had a narrow win, while Marty Lane (18–20) just went down.

Next round Wangaratta play Tungamah away and Milawa are away to Wodonga.
B1: Wangaratta secured another away win at Swanpool on Saturday, Ken Essenhigh, Lance Jenkin, John Knight and Joy Izard (23–12) and Keith Izard, Gayle King, Ralph Martinelli and Heather Coyle (22–20) were Wangaratta's winning rinks, while Klaus Kazenwadel, Richie Allen, Neil Jensen and Fran Don went down by six (12–18).
Final scores: Wang 12 pts 57 shots def Swanpool 2 pts 50 shots.
Moyhu had another away win, this time at Moira on Saturday.
Charlie Thompson, Max Baker, Ian Mills and Bill Allen backed up last week's big win with another impressive effort (25–9), while Ian Ritchie, Neil Magee, Howard White and Anthea Nockels were just as dominant with a (23–9) result.
Stuart Brain, Joe Northey, Graham Batten and Neale Grimshaw (18–24) went down by six.
Final scores: Moyhu 12 pts 66 shots def Moira 2 pts 42 shots.
Wangaratta are home to Moira next round and Moyhu will host St James.
B3: Wangaratta travelled to Corowa Civic on Saturday and went down by the barest of margins.
Chris Bell, Bruce Desmond, Howard Beard and Ric Chivers (25–17) and Ron McAuliffe, Malcolm Hargreaves, John Keen and Sue Singleton (29–12) both had strong rink wins for the visitors, Graeme Norman, Lyn Kahlefeldt, Ann Keen and Susan Bull (12–38) went down.

A1: Wangaratta had another all rinks win, this week at Club Mulwala in round 11 of A1 mid–week.

Alice Dobson's rink (28–11) were big winners for Wareena, while losses to Water Brett (17–24) and Neil Reid (16–31) saw the margin at just five shots for the home side.

Milawa had a good win at home against Moyhu in the last round.

Club Championships:
The Wangaratta Bowls Club's Men's and Women's Singles Finals will be played this afternoon.
The men's final will commence at 3:30pm with Gary Chambers taking on last year's winner Ethan Fruend.
The women's final will commence at 5pm with defending champion Jodie Fruend up against Lorna Martinelli.
Anyone wishing to see some high class bowling are more than welcome to attend the Park Lane greens.
