FORMER Wangaratta Magpie Joe Richards has been selected for his AFL debut with Collingwood on Sunday.

Injuries and good form in the VFL, including a six-goal haul on Good Friday, had the 24-year-old knocking on the door of selection.

The speedy midfielder/forward was a 2017 premiership player and a best and fairest with Wangaratta, before being taken with pick 48 in the 2022 national draft.

Richards and the 'Pies will take on West Coast at Marvel Stadium from 1pm Sunday.
