AFTER years of work the Wangaratta Golf Club has officially moved into its new clubhouse.
The club has gone under major redevelopments over the past two years with new holes, a drainage system upgrade and a driving range just a few of the upgrades the club has seen along with the clubhouse.
Wangaratta Golf Club president Denis Hill was over the moon to finally welcome members and patrons into the new facility.
"It all looks sensational," Hill said.
"The driving range is full of action and the course looks great at the moment.
"We just need to get the landscaping done around the clubhouse but that will happen over time."
The clubhouse is fitted out with a commercial kitchen, dining area, bar, serving desk and automatic ball washer for the driving range balls.
"Everything's come up real well," Hill said.
"It's modern and neat and big enough for everything we need it for.
"After three years of hard work it's exciting to finally be in."
The driving range is 240 metres long with a number of greens to hit throughout to work on short game.
"The driving range will be a real asset to Wangaratta," Hill said.
"It's something that the entire community and members of other clubs can use.
"It's 240 metres long but with range balls you're going to have to hit a big drive to clear it.
"Hopefully it's something that might attract more members to the club as well."
