WANGARATTA lawn aggregate tennis' final round before Christmas was played on the weekend with strong results across the board.
Three players reached the elusive 24 games for, with Sam Allen the first to tick that milestone off with a section one win.
Allen's 24-13 was far too good for the rest with John Brunner (20-20), Joe Allen (19-21) and Matt Allen (17-23) in his wake.
In section two it was Mark Brown (23-15) who finished in style to run away from Kevin Callahan and Brian Scobie (19-18) tied for second.
Henry Dean (19-21) and Mario Pane (14-22) rounded out the section.
Section three was incredibly tight with just one game separating Michael Ibbot (21-15) and Mike Lairson (21-17), while Mandy Allen (21-18) was hot on their heels.
Matt Curran (18-20) and Ian McDonald (13-24) had a crack but it wasn't their day.
Andrew Lindner was section four's victor with a tidy 23-14.
Colin Mackay (21-16) was next best, while he was a fair way ahead of Thomas McDonald (16-20), Russell Canning (16-20) and Peter Curran (14-20).
Section five saw Geoff Kyne claim the 24 games (13 against) to finish clearly in the lead.
Mark Gorman (19-16), Andrew Cope (18-16), Max McAuliffe (14-21) and Matilda Dean (13-22) followed.
And finally, section six's Amy Lairson claimed the day's best score with 24-11.
Terry Flynn (18-16) couldn't keep up with Lairson, as well as Victor Lairson (17-19), Geoff Davidson (17-20) and Des Steele (12-22).
