THE Harrietville Bush Market returns this Sunday with more than 50 stalls at the picturesque Tavare Park, starting from 8:30am and running until 1pm.
According to Harrietville Historical Society president Robyn Downey, the market will feature an interesting mix of stalls, including food vendors, craft stalls and plant and book sellers.
Also onsite will be the ‘Dishpig’, the converted horse float that supplies cups and bowls attendees can use to purchase food and drink, then return to be washed in its commercial dishwasher.
For entertainment, the market will also feature the downtempo house vibes of DJ Beauy.
Ms Downey said the traditional CFA demonstration will allow people to try out the hose and the CFA will also hold raffle.
She said the market is a major fundraiser for the Harrietville Museum, ensuring its upkeep and assisting in museum acquisitions.
Ms Downey thanked the new market coordinators Greg Pelly and Sarah Anderson, as well as former long-time coordinator Brian Fleming.
She said Mr Fleming had coordinated the market for 12 years and worked to increase the variety of stalls available, including craft stalls and interesting food stalls.
She said many of the stallholders operate at other markets across the shire, but particularly enjoy visiting Harrietville.
“They just love the atmosphere there and they tell me that every time,” she said.
“It’s very popular as far as the stallholders go.”
