Ryan Patterson continued his fine form at the Wangaratta Lawn Tennis, Croquet and Pickleball Club’s senior aggregate tennis competition over the weekend.

Round five saw Patterson take top spot in section one with his 23-16, narrowly holding off Brian Scobie (23-18).

Kevin Callahan wasn’t too far behind, finishing with 18-19, while Mark Brown (16-21) and Ashley Weston (16-22) were tight all day.

In section two, Riley Minns blitzed the field, five games clear of his competitors.

His 24-11 accounted for Mike Lairson (19-19), with John Mansfield’s 18-20 securing him third.

Fighting hard all day were Mandy Allen (16-22) and Frank Harris (15-20).

It was tough at the top of section three, with just a single game separating first from fourth.

Michael Falkenberg came out ahead with his 22-18, narrowly ahead of the tied Andrew Cope and Thomas McDonald, with 21-19 apiece.

Jason Tan was just off the pace, finishing with 21-20, while Pat Flynn rounded out the section with 15-24.

Section four saw Joel Eulenstein return to the competition in form, producing a commendable 24-14 result.

Mark Gorman (20-18) and Maree Sullivan (18-16) performed well to round out the podium, while Victor Lairson netted 17-19 and Patrick Oudin 11-23.

In section five, Peter Curran stood tall, with his 21-25 landing him on top of the pops ahead of Alan Busk (20-16) and Russell Canning (20-17).

Bringing up the rear were Amy Lairson (16-22) and Sartaj Bal (15-22).

Noel Boyd was the man of the moment in section six, storming home with 20-13, while James Wilkinson was on the rougher end of the equation with his 20-16.

Terry Flynn (19-16) and Max McAuliffe (18-17) weren’t too far behind, while John Shanley came in with his 9-24.

Finally, it was a tie at the top of section seven, with Tony Clarebrough and Sue Piper splitting the honours with their 23-14.

Mick Keogh and Emilio Miliankos-King also recorded the same scores, both coming in with (15-19), while Cate Geard rounded it out with 14-24.
